Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Construction Materials Testing Lab in Farmingdale, NY. You will perform laboratory tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials following ASTM and related standards.

The ideal candidate has a technical/engineering background or degree, strong math and communication skills, and is able to obtain ACI Concrete Testing Certification within six months. Must lift up to 50 pounds; OSHA 10 preferred.

Qualifications

• Technical/engineering background or degree and ability to obtain ACI Lab Concrete Testing certifications within 6 months of hiring.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 2 years of lab experience or relevant certifications/degree.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory standardized tests on construction materials using established methods.
• Report results of testing according to ASTM or other standards.
• Perform laboratory maintenance and verifications of testing equipment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Description

We are currently looking for Laboratory Technician for the Construction Materials Testing Lab.

Candidate’s responsibilities to perform laboratory tests related to Concrete, Soil, Asphalt, Masonry, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable testing standards/methods.

• Performing a variety of laboratory standardized tests on construction materials using established methods laboratory testing tasks.
• Report results of testing as per ASTM or other standardized requirements.
• Perform Laboratory maintenance.
• Perform maintenance and verifications of laboratory testing equipment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate should have technical/engineering background, knowledge or degree and able to obtain ACI Lab Concrete Testing Certifications within 6 months of hiring.
