Job summary

Nesco Resource is partnering with a global engineering and technology organization to place an Instrumentation Engineer in its Houston team. The role focuses on hands-on instrumentation engineering for large-scale industrial projects, from design through startup.

The ideal candidate has strong field instrumentation knowledge, experience with instrument installation, and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines. Travel around 20–30% is expected.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related electrical discipline.
3+ years of instrumentation engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, energy, or EPC environments.
Hands-on experience with field instrumentation design, specification, and installation.
Experience with control valve sizing and specification.
Familiarity with ISA/IEC/NFPA/API standards preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop instrumentation deliverables: instrument indexes, I/O lists, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, and installation layouts.
Specify and select field instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, and level.
Size and specify control valves and other instrumentation equipment.
Prepare instrument specifications, BOMs, and bid evaluations.
Review vendor drawings and documentation; support FATs, SATs, and field installation.
