Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in the Kansas City area to support multiple market groups with standard engineering tasks. You will assist lead engineers, apply established design methods, and help update designs across diverse projects.

The role emphasizes strong communication, analytical skills, and a proactive learning mindset while working full-time hours. Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree with ABET familiarity and a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the department work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to tasks.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties.
• Correct and update designs and documents as needed.
• Support various market-specific assignments and project work.
