Job summary

Koch Fertilizer in Wever, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician Intern for Summer 2027 to learn in an industrial setting with no prior experience required. This internship provides hands-on exposure to maintenance work, collaboration with seasoned teams, and insight into plant operations.

The 12-week program runs from late May to early August 2027 with a 4‑day, 10‑hour shift schedule. You will gain experience across rotating and fixed equipment, while developing problem-solving and teamwork

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of a relevant degree, certificate, or workforce training program.
Willing and able to meet all physical requirements.
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Gain hands-on experience on projects representative of full-time maintenance professionals.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and improve reliability with maintenance and operations teams.
Assist with inspection and maintenance of fixed equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers, furnaces, heaters).
Assist with installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of rotating equipment (pumps, compressor systems).
Support equipment reliability and plant performance through preventive maintenance.
