Job summary

Palfinger North America in Kent, WA is seeking a Shop Technician to repair and service hydraulic cranes and heavy equipment. You’ll diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and document work for warranty and parts usage.

Ideal candidates have 3 years of mechanical experience, crane/forklift familiarity, and strong troubleshooting skills. Must be able to lift 75+ lbs and work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• About 3 years of mechanical experience or training, ideally with articulating cranes and forklifts.
• Depth in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems; diagnostics and welding capability.
• Basic computer literacy, Windows applications; self-starter who works independently.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and lift 75+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Repair and troubleshoot articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, buckets, platforms, conveyors, trucks and trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual inspections; document warranty work.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled diagnostics and repairs after hours as needed.
• Communicate issues clearly to Shop Service Manager and document work including labor and parts.
• Follow safety regulations; keep the work area clean and organized.
