Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a hands-on HIL Engineer to build and commission comprehensive HIL benches for automotive ECUs in Auburn Hills, MI. You will manage wiring, signal mapping, and network configurations to enable reliable hardware-in-the-loop testing and validation.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with HIL platforms, and the ability to work on-site with cross-functional validation teams. A technical engineering degree is expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics or automotive engineering.
• Hands-on experience building, configuring, integrating, or troubleshooting HIL test benches.
• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and ECUs.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure HIL test benches for automotive ECU testing and validation.
• Install and integrate HIL hardware, interfaces, power supplies, and measurement equipment.
• Perform electrical wiring and physical connections between ECUs, HIL systems, and test gear.
• Configure ECU power, grounding, signal conditioning, and I/O signals.
• Configure CAN/CAN FD, LIN, and Ethernet networks and interfaces.
• Set up HIL I/O channels and map ECU signals to simulation environment.
• Support ECU installation, bench commissioning, and validation.
• Document bench configurations, wiring, and troubleshooting activities.
