Job summary

Base, America’s next-generation power company, is seeking a test engineer to join the safety and abuse team. You will design and run tests on in-house battery and inverter systems, ensure safety across the product lifecycle, and communicate results to stakeholders.

The role is hands-on and lab-focused at a satellite facility near Austin, with both field and office time. You will work with other test engineers, technicians, and designers to increase test throughput and quality, review designs,

Qualifications

• 3 years designing and running tests on electrical equipment.
• Experience with lithium-ion batteries, HV systems, and DAQ.
• Hands-on experience with battery thermal runaway is a plus.
• UL 9540 / UL 1973 exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate safety of systems using DFMEA and similar tools.
• Design test setups and execute safety/abuse testing.
• Own safety of test setups and data acquisition.
• Write world-class test reports.
