Job summary

Southwind, the largest franchise partner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, is expanding in Grand Rapids. We seek a hands-on General Manager who spends about three days weekly on the trucks with the crew, delivering world-class junk removal and coaching the team in real time.

You’ll drive local growth, oversee scheduling, fleet upkeep, and profitability, while building a culture of accountability and grit. This role blends field leadership with strategic operations to build a strong local brand.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a supervisory role (service, logistics, or equivalent).
• Strong communication and people-management skills.
• Ability to read P&L statements and drive local growth.

Responsibilities

• Field leadership: spend ~3 days/week on trucks with the team to deliver service and model standards.
• On-the-job training: coach teammates on sales, safety and efficiency in real time.
• Customer experience: be the face of the brand in Grand Rapids, ensuring every job meets/exceeds expectations.
• Business growth: develop local marketing and sales strategies to dominate the market.
• P&L management: oversee labor costs, fleet maintenance, and profitability.
• Team building: recruit, hire, and mentor a high-performing crew and build a culture of accountability.
• Logistics & safety: manage daily scheduling and fleet operations while upholding safety standards.
