Job summary

The DNA Learning Center (DNALC) at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory has immediate full-time educator positions in Cold Spring Harbor. You will join a world-renowned team creating and disseminating innovative genetics education methods across genomics, bioinformatics, and data science to reach millions of students.

Responsibilities include hands-on instruction for precollege visitors, regional travel, international workshops, module development, and lab prep assistance. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong content knowledge in biology/genetics
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on instruction to precollege students
• Travel to deliver programs at regional schools and other DNALC locations
• Teach week-long educator workshops; both domestic and international
• Develop and improve teaching modules, including new experiments
• Assist with laboratory preparation and testing
• Flexible scheduling may include some weekend work
