Job summary

A-C Electric Company in Bakersfield, CA, is seeking an Accounting & Finance Intern for a 10-week Summer 2027 internship. You’ll work with accounting, finance, and project teams on accounts payable/receivable, payroll, project financials, month-end activities, and financial reporting, applying concepts to real business processes.

This hands-on program offers mentorship, exposure to Spectrum and Procore, and opportunities to develop reports for project teams and leaders.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment at a college or university with an expected graduation date on or before August 2029.
• A GPA of at least 3.0 in upper-division coursework for your major or 2.75 overall.
• Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the entire 10-week Summer 2027 internship.
• Ability to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Supporting accounts payable and receivable by assisting with transaction processing, account coding, vendor statements, and the resolution of discrepancies.
• Assisting payroll activities by supporting payroll processing for field and office employees, including certified payroll for government contracts.
• Supporting project financial planning and tracking by helping prepare project budgets, forecasts, cost-tracking reports, and other financial information.
• Participating in month-end accounting activities by assisting with journal entries, reconciliations, and other close-related work.
• Preparing financial and operational information by helping develop reports for project teams and Company leaders using Spectrum and Procore.
