Job summary

gpac is seeking a hands-on Field Supervisor to lead crews and oversee day-to-day operations on underground utility and heavy civil projects across Northern Indiana. The role focuses on watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, excavation, and utility installation with an emphasis on safety and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in field leadership, strong plan-reading skills, and the ability to coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors while maintaining quality,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction field, preferably heavy civil or underground utilities.
• Experience as Field Supervisor, Superintendent, Foreman, or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of underground wet utilities (watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily field operations and underground utility crews.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Oversee installation of watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related utilities.
• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Ensure work meets plans, specifications, and project schedules.
• Maintain high production, quality, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Identify field issues and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
• Monitor productivity and report progress to management.
• Conduct daily pre-task planning and enforce safety procedures.
• Assist with scheduling, material coordination, and project documentation.
• Train and develop field personnel.
