Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our field team in Atlanta. You will work closely with project managers and senior superintendents to oversee field operations from preconstruction through project closeout.

You will supervise daily activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, schedule, and quality align with project plans. Strong communication and organization are essential in this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Degree or progress toward degree in civil/construction fields.
• Strong interest in design/build and tilt-up concrete projects.
• Experience is welcome but not required; driver’s license required.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred (not required).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project).
• Excellent verbal communication and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with planning.
• Develop construction schedules with the Project Manager and plan equipment needs.
• Lead daily field activities to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure proper cross-trade communication.
• Assist with material deliveries, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Prepare progress reports and monitor project costs and invoices.
• Maintain regular communication with owners, architects, and stakeholders.
• Lead jobsite coordination meetings and maintain site records.
• Promote safety and ensure a productive, safe jobsite.
