Job summary

Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic Assistant for the seasonal period May through November. The role supports the Maintenance department by performing vacant unit prep, basic repairs, custodial tasks, and grounds care, while assisting the Maintenance Mechanic II.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to perform moderately heavy manual labor, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience with basic maintenance tasks in housing or facilities.
• Ability to perform moderately heavy manual work.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions and outdoors/indoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor maintenance tasks (plumbing, wiring, fixtures) as assigned.
• Vacant unit prep and cleaning prior to occupancy.
• Grounds keeping tasks including mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
• Custodial duties in office and common areas (sweeping, mopping, cleaning).
• Assist Maintenance Mechanic II with installation and repair work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
