Job summary

The Florida State Fair Authority in Tampa Bay is seeking a hands-on Director of Facilities to lead maintenance, electrical, grounds and construction across our 330-acre campus. You will supervise teams, manage work orders, and ensure safe, reliable facilities for year-round events.

This role combines leadership with field presence: you’ll plan capital projects, develop preventive maintenance, manage a multimillion-dollar budget, and drive safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred or equivalent.
• Six to eight years in facilities management or construction with increasing responsibility.
• Minimum of two years in a management role with budget oversight and PM program experience.
• Certifications related to A/C refrigeration, EPA, OSHA, construction, electrical, plumbing, welding are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance, electrical, grounds, landscape, and construction activities.
• Manage work orders, safety, and department training across teams.
• Oversee a multimillion-dollar budget and life-safety systems compliance.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and capital projects.
