Job summary

Sacoma Specialty Products is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to work on the shop floor, improving metal fabrication processes and troubleshooting equipment on-site. You will support tooling and mechanical improvements, drive safety, quality, and cost efficiency, and report to the engineering team.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and collaboration with manufacturing, maintenance, and leadership to deliver tangible improvements in operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Technology degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
• Reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams required.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance on heavy industrial equipment.
• Industrial experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, sensors, and servo motors is a plus.
• Experience conducting time studies and reporting data.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and researching programs across product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Develop manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment.
• Improve efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assist production with programming and adjusting robotic MIG welders and resistance welders.
• Ensure quality by designing testing methods, standards, and confirming processes.
• Calculate production costs and review schedules.
