Job summary

RBC is seeking a highly technical Engineering Development Manager for Equity Finance in Jersey City. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of next‑generation equity swaps and synthetic prime applications while writing production‑grade code and guiding architectural decisions.

You will own the full software lifecycle, set engineering standards, and collaborate with trading, risk, and infrastructure teams. Expect senior-level ownership and a strong impact on platform performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in equity finance, synthetic prime brokerage, delta one.
• 10+ years of expert-level Java, Spring Boot, Redis building large scale trading applications.
• Deep understanding of Prime brokerage and Delta One products: equity swaps, futures, forwards, TRS, ETF mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement low-latency, high-performance software systems.
• Build position management and trade lifecycle management for Delta One products.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from design to production release.
• Interface with other technical teams to integrate with applications.
• Define engineering standards: code reviews, testing, CI/CD and documentation.
• Define the analytics platform architecture, including service boundaries and APIs.
• Lead migration of legacy components to modern architectures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform engineering for real-time data.
• Translate business requirements into well-scoped engineering deliverables.
• Assist in hiring and participate in leadership discussions.
• Represent analytics development in cross-functional forums.
