Job summary

Liquid Web’s Nexcess Cloud Services group is seeking a senior engineering leader to own an end-to-end team, shaping architecture, delivery, and a monthly roadmap. This hands-on role requires technical judgment, code review, and balancing AI-assisted work with traditional engineering practices.

You will partner with Product to align priorities, own on-call rotations, and drive engineering metrics while growing engineers and ensuring secure, scalable data protection, security, and edge services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Hands-on fluency in Perl, PHP, React, Vue; Postgres/MariaDB; CDN, WAF, server security.
• Able to review AI-generated code and ship changes today.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture design, delivery and roadmap for your team.
• Own the engineering outcomes for Cloud Services’ product space.
• Stay in the work: write specs, review PRs, and ship changes.
• Run the AI harness yourself and lead the team to do so.
• Scope and cut the work into monthly cycles with clear cuts.
• Identify cross-team dependencies and resolve before they block.
• Maintain DORA High metrics and ensure test coverage.
• Grow your engineers with regular 1:1s and growth plans; hiring end-to-end.
