Job summary

Cartesia is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of our core teams in San Francisco. You’ll build and grow a 7+ engineer group, own its technical direction, and stay hands-on to guide architecture and delivery.

Partnering with Product and Research, you’ll set the roadmap, drive a high cadence of shipping, and ensure scalable, reliable systems. We support visa sponsorship; in‑office teams are based in SF, London and Bangalore, with collaboration and high‑quality design.

Qualifications

Experience leading engineering teams and developing engineers.
Strong technical depth and judgment for architecture and decisions.
Track record delivering complex projects in fast-moving environments.
Ability to balance execution with longer-term investments.
Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high performance and observability.
Cross-functional leadership to align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
Own your team's roadmap, decisions, and outcomes, setting clear priorities and driving a high and predictable shipping cadence.
Provide technical leadership across architecture, design reviews, complex technical problems, and production incidents.
Develop understanding of systems and tradeoffs to unblock the team and drive sound decisions.
Partner with Product, Research, and other teams to set direction and deliver company priorities.
Ensure systems scale with business growth while maintaining performance and reliability.
