Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an Engineering Director in a hands-on EMS environment. The role leads Technical Engineering and SMT Programming for high-mix PCB/PCBA manufacturing, closely tied to the floor and production release processes.

The position emphasizes mentoring, cross-training and continuous improvement of SMT programming, equipment utilization and manufacturing documentation, with on-site work and relocation support where needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Engineering leadership experience in EMS/PCB/PCBA contract manufacturing.
• Experience with high-mix SMT production and complex PCB/PCBA assembly.
• Knowledge of CAD, Gerber, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience with automated inspection technologies (SPI/AOI/X-ray).
• Experience supporting NPI, production releases and engineering changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Engineering and SMT Programming teams, set priorities and cross-train.
• Oversee SMT programming, component libraries, program validation and release.
• Support high-mix SMT production and complex PCB/PCBA assembly.
• Manage automated SMT equipment support, including Fuji NXT III.
• Review CAD, Gerber, P&P data, BOMs and customer docs for accuracy.
• Drive technical reviews from data receipt to manufacturing release.
• Support NPI, prototypes, first builds and launches.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Production and Planning.
• Improve SMT programming accuracy, setup time and placement performance.
• Oversee inline inspection and other processes used in PCB/PCBA manufacturing.
• Maintain documentation, routings and engineering changes.
• Troubleshoot defects and programming issues; mentor staff and standardize processes.
