Job summary

Boom is hiring Product Development Engineers to own modules of the Symphony engine end-to-end — from concept through test. You’ll work on turbomachinery, mechanical systems, or structures, collaborating with our shop and external suppliers to turn drawings into working hardware.

You’ll thrive if you have a mechanical/aerospace/manufacturing engineering background (or equivalent hands-on experience), strong DFM/DFA intuition, and a track record of simplifying builds in high-consequence

Qualifications

• DFM and DFA intuition; ability to assess manufacturability from a part design.
• Hands-on experience turning design into actual hardware in high-consequence environments.
• Experience working across design, fabrication, and testing to deliver hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own a module of the Superpower engine — turbomachinery, mechanical systems, or structures/integration — from requirements through test.
• Drive design decisions to minimize part count, simplify assembly, and shorten the path from drawing to hardware.
• Work at the interface between design and fabrication with in-house shop and external suppliers to get parts made right, fast, and on budget.
• Integrate hardware onto test stands; observe, break, fix, and ship the next revision.
• Raise the bar on everyone around you.
