Job summary

Dexmate is seeking an Embedded Motor Controls Engineer to develop real-time firmware for robot actuators. You will own motor-control implementation, encoder integration, servo tuning, communications, and fault handling, with hands-on work on benches and actuators.

The role requires strong embedded C/C++ skills, experience with field-oriented control, encoder feedback, and hardware debugging. You will collaborate with firmware, power electronics and mechanics teams to deliver reliable motion

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C or C++ skills with real-time firmware on MCUs or DSPs.
• Experience with field-oriented control and tuning motor/servo loops on hardware.
• Familiar with encoder feedback, ADC, PWM timing, interrupts, and RTOS or bare-metal.

Responsibilities

• Implement and validate field-oriented control for PMSM or BLDC motors.
• Develop torque, speed and position control; tune servo response and diagnose issues.
• Integrate encoders and feedback sensors, including calibration and fault detection.
• Build deterministic command and telemetry interfaces (CAN/CAN FD or EtherCAT).
• Implement current, voltage and thermal limits, derating and fault recovery with the drive engineer.
• Develop bench and HIL tests; maintain reproducible firmware releases and calibration procedures.
