Job summary

Dexmate is expanding its Embedded Systems Engineering team in Fremont, CA. You will own the electronics-to-software interface, bring up PCBs, write firmware for MCUs, and develop drivers for embedded Linux platforms including NVIDIA Jetson/Orin.

You’ll integrate camera and sensor pipelines over GMSL and ensure deterministic real-time performance across CAN/CAN FD and Ethernet. You will also build diagnostics, test fixtures, and automated hardware-in-the-loop tests, while supporting manufacturing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional embedded systems experience in robotics, automotive, industrial automation, or complex consumer electronics.
• Strong C and C++ skills for firmware and driver development; working knowledge of Python for tooling and test automation.
• Hands-on board bring-up experience including reading schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and timing diagrams.
• Driver-level experience with CAN/CAN FD, EtherCAT, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet.
• MCU firmware experience with ARM Cortex-M, STM32, TI C2000, or similar on bare-metal or RTOS.
• Proficiency with embedded debugging and lab tools: JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers.
• Systematic debugging skills across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, controls, and software engineers.

Responsibilities

• Bring up, validate, and debug new PCBs by reading schematics, measuring signals, and isolating hardware versus software faults
• Develop firmware for MCUs (bare-metal and RTOS) and drivers for embedded Linux platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson/Orin
• Write and maintain device drivers and communication stacks for CAN/CAN FD, EtherCAT, I2C, SPI, UART, and Ethernet
• Integrate camera and sensor pipelines over GMSL including serializer/deserializer configuration, device trees, V4L2 drivers, and timing synchronization
• Bring up, tune, and debug EtherCAT and CAN networks for deterministic real-time performance across actuators, sensors, and power systems
• Build diagnostics, test fixtures, and automated hardware-in-the-loop tests for boards and subsystems
• Support manufacturing, end-of-line testing, and field troubleshooting as robots transition from prototype to deployment
