Job summary

1X is seeking an Electrical Engineer in San Carlos, CA to turn electrical designs into buildable hardware and to drive rapid prototyping. You will collaborate with the Prototyping team to validate prototypes, harnessing solutions, and electrical assemblies for the NEO home robot program.

The role emphasizes hands-on building, debugging, and documentation, with close partnership across engineering and fabrication to move from early prototypes toward reliable, repeatable assemblies.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in electrical engineering or hands-on hardware development.
• Experience developing and debugging electrical prototypes, harnesses, or cable assemblies.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics and wiring documentation.
• Experience measuring continuity and diagnosing electrical faults.
• Collaborates with technicians or fabrication partners to build and iterate hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical prototypes, wire harnesses, and cable assembly designs for testing.
• Translate schematics into build documentation and support technicians during assembly.
• Plan and run continuity and fault-isolation tests for hardware before downstream assembly.
• Debug prototype hardware and implement practical design/documentation changes.
• Improve harness builds with fixtures, documentation, and manufacturability considerations.
