Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a Research Associate II – Drug Discovery in Seattle, WA. The role requires hands-on mammalian cell culture and RT-qPCR with the ability to design primers and optimize assays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related discipline required.
• Approximately 3+ years hands-on lab experience required; master's degree with relevant experience considered.
• Strong RT-qPCR experience needed.
• Mammalian cell culture experience required.
• Experience designing or optimizing primers, probes, or oligos.
• Experience developing or troubleshooting biological assays.
• Ability to organize, execute, document, and analyze multiple experiments.
• Strong scientific communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammalian cell culture and maintain cancer cell lines.
• Execute RT-qPCR and multiplex RT-qPCR assays to evaluate gene expression and compound activity.
• Design, evaluate, and optimize primers, probes, and oligonucleotides.
• Conduct cell-based assays including viability, proliferation, apoptosis, and compound-response assays.
• Perform dose-response and follow-up validation experiments.
• Support validation and characterization of hits from screening campaigns.
• Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and scale molecular and cell-based assays.
• Analyze results and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate lab documentation and records.
• Collaborate with scientists across biology, proteomics, automation, and computational/data-science.
