Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Lead Database Administrator to guide and grow an enterprise DBA team, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and recoverability of critical database platforms. You will stay hands-on to resolve complex incidents and drive improvements across architecture, automation, upgrades, migrations, and production support.

You will own operational health across on-prem and cloud environments (SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, MongoDB), directing provisioning,

Hands-on technical leadership with DBA expertise.
Experience across on-premises and cloud database platforms.
Ability to drive automation, monitoring, and runbooks.
Proven capability to manage vendors and licensing.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, develop, and retain a team of database administrators.
Remain hands-on as escalation point for incidents and outages.
Own the operational health of enterprise database platforms across environments.
Drive automation of provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, patching, access control, and compliance.
Develop monitoring dashboards, run-books, and support procedures.
Oversee database-adjacent platforms and services such as reporting and ETL/ELT.
Define roadmaps, evaluate new capabilities, and recommend investments.
Manage vendors, licensing, renewals, and professional services.
Forecast staffing, workload, budget, contractors, and offshore/nearshore resources.
