Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Chantilly, VA seeks an Engineering Operations Technician to join the front‑line team responsible for maintaining and operating mission‑critical data center infrastructure, including standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will perform rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, troubleshoot facility and rack events, install racks, support change management, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours and manage physical tasks on data center sites.
• Willingness to rotate between multiple site locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS systems.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Support change management with technical writing.
• Manage work requests from conception to completion and coordinate with contractors.
