Job summary

Dickson County Schools is seeking a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to deliver skilled instruction in a designated CTE program. The teacher will plan and implement curricula, ensuring safe use of tools and equipment while linking classroom learning to real-world industry needs.

The role requires TN licensure with the appropriate CTE endorsement, and may involve a Practitioner Occupational License pathway.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum tailored to the CTE program, following district guidelines.
• Instruct students in use of tools, equipment, and technology in the course.
• Provide theory and hands-on learning experiences to ensure skill development.
• Assess student performance through formal and informal methods.
• Maintain a safe, functional classroom and lab environment.
• Enforce safety rules and protect students and materials.
• Keep accurate records of progress and attendance.
• Modify curriculum for students with IEPs in collaboration with special education.
• Establish a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) advisory.
• Build relationships with local businesses for work-based learning opportunities.
• Attend staff development activities and stay current with industry trends.
