Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation with external preparers and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You will also improve processes, controls, risk management, and service levels while collaborating with auditors and management to respond to tax notices and inquiries.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
• Work directly with internal and external auditors.
• Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
• Support related areas such as sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives.
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
