Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to take full ownership of the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting and oversee return preparation with internal staff and external preparers.

You will coach a team of tax accountants, improve processes, and partner with auditors and management on tax matters. A CPA or advanced degree is a plus, with strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Sharp organizational and analytical abilities with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
• Work directly with internal and external auditors.
• Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
• Support related areas as needed, including sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives.
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
