Job summary
Charter Steel in Saukville, WI offers a year-round Automation & Controls Engineer Internship. You will gain hands-on experience supporting automation and controls projects, test and improve control systems, and develop HMI software while learning the steelmaking process.
The program features a part-time schedule during the academic year and full-time in the summer, starting January 2027. Applicants must be enrolled in a four-year Electrical/Controls Engineering program with sophomore standing
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a four-year Electrical/Controls Engineering degree with Sophomore status.
- GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute projects within an HMI environment.
- Support real-time manufacturing through control system programming.
- Design and enhance operator GUIs to improve workflow.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations to troubleshoot and improve systems.
