Job summary

iA (Innovation Associates) invites students to join its 10-week summer iA Intern Program as a Controls Engineering Intern, supporting design, development, and implementation of automation control systems under senior engineers.

The internship runs June 1, 2027 to August 6, 2027 in the U.S. with an estimated hourly rate of $18.00–$26.00. You will gain hands-on PLC, HMIs, and wiring experience and participate in real projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Undergraduate student gaining hands-on experience in automation.
• Strong interest in controls engineering and automation concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and commissioning of automation control systems under supervision.
• Work with PLCs, HMIs, and motor control systems.
• Develop and document project scopes and system documentation.
• Support in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Contribute to system testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineers to meet timelines and budgets.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain accurate records.
