Job summary

SBH Career is seeking an experienced Controller in Somerset, NJ to oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations on a hands-on basis. The role covers AP/AR, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with coordination with an outside CPA.

Initially part-time, with potential to grow into a full-time role based on business needs. Flexible scheduling and compensation based on experience are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous Controller, senior accounting, or comparable hands-on accounting experience required.
• Strong accounting and bookkeeping background.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections.
• Experience performing bank and account reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions.
• Manage accounts receivable and collections.
• Oversee accounts payable, including invoices and payments.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on collections.
• Maintain general ledger and financial records.
• Review transactions and ensure expenses are properly recorded and categorized.
• Identify discrepancies and investigate financial issues.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation for financial transactions.
