Job summary

CapCenter, a Richmond, Virginia-based mortgage lender and real estate services company, seeks a hands-on Controller to own the accounting function end-to-end and partner with the CFO on strategic financial decisions.

You will lead the close, GAAP reporting, external audit, and internal controls, building a team around you as CapCenter scales its multi-line business. CPA required and 10+ years in regulated financial services preferred.

Qualifications

• Deep US GAAP technical accounting skills requiring research, writing and defense of positions.
• Hands-on close experience and ability to work across the full close cycle.
• Experience leading external audits as the owner from the company side.
• Strong communication with auditors, regulators, lenders, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, intercompany and tie-out.
• Produce timely US GAAP financial statements and statutory/regulatory reporting.
• Oversee internal controls and system stack; partner with Technology on integrations and automation.
