Job summary

Alpine Tree Service in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Hands-On Controller to build the financial infrastructure for a rapidly growing field-service company. This is not a traditional Controller role but a builder position requiring ownership of accounting, controls, and reporting.

You will manage the full accounting cycle, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis while partnering with ownership to drive profitability and growth. A proactive, detail-oriented leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting or financial-management experience.
• Strong hands-on accounting and bookkeeping capabilities.
• Experience managing the monthly and year-end close process.
• Experience preparing financial statements and management reporting.
• Experience working in a growing small or mid-sized business.
• CPA or CMA designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle and close processes.
• Oversee accounts payable and vendor management.
• Lead customer invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections.
• Perform bank and credit-card reconciliations.
• Review payroll and labor allocations.
• Develop cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management.
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Create annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Build scalable accounting processes and internal controls.
