Job summary

Wyckoff Construction, a growing construction firm in New Jersey, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead financial operations, reporting, and compliance. The role offers access to ownership and a clear path to CFO as the company scales.

The Controller will manage GL, AR/AP, payroll, job costing, and monthly/annual financial packages with a focus on accuracy and internal controls. Strong construction accounting background preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting and financial management experience, preferably in construction or project-based settings.
• Experience with WIP accounting and job costing.
• Strong communication skills to present financial information to ownership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and job costing.
• Prepare AR progress billings based on contract milestones.
• Manage collections, vendor payments, and lien waiver processes.
• Prepare and maintain monthly WIP and CPA reports across active projects.
• Run monthly job cost reports with PMs and ownership; update schedules accordingly.
• Monitor cash flow, DSO, and DPO; provide risk/funding insights to ownership.
