Job summary

JFR Staffing is seeking a hands-on Controller in Wall Township, NJ to lead and strengthen our accounting and finance function. The role blends day-to-day execution with process improvement, team leadership, and strategic planning in a growing SaaS environment.

You will oversee close cycles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting under US GAAP, while partnering with executives to drive performance and scalability. A CPA and QuickBooks Online expertise are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• SaaS or subscription-based business background.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience in monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Experience consolidating financial statements; QuickBooks migration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger and close processes.
• Prepare timely, accurate financial statements in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead month-end close and enforce internal control policies.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, AR, and AP.
• Mentor accounting team and drive process improvements.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insight for decisions.
• Implement scalable processes and track key metrics.
• Drive accuracy and timeliness of reporting and analysis.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead and strengthen its accounting and finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day execution with process improvement, team leadership, and strategic financial planning.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing SaaS environment and enjoys building scalable financial processes while partnering closely with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and monthly and year-end close
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Lead the month-end close process and ensure compliance with internal financial policies
• Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Manage and mentor the accounting team while improving processes and internal controls
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic business decisions
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
• Develop and track key financial metrics and performance indicators

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including prior experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager
• Strong background supporting a SaaS or subscription-based business
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience consolidating financial statements
• Experience migrating from QuickBooks Enterprise to QuickBooks Online is a plus
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• CPA and/or Big 4 public accounting experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $140,000 plus performance-based bonus
