Job summary

Jans Corporation, a well-established family-run general contractor, seeks an experienced Commercial Superintendent to lead smaller commercial projects. You will supervise crews and subcontractors, perform hands-on field work when required, and balance safety with schedule, budget, and quality.

Strong leadership and communication are essential. Weekly hours typically run 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with potential weekends or evenings for deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial construction field with supervisory experience.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field crews to maintain schedule, quality, and safety.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change-related documentation.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of crew and subcontractors to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Enforce safety protocols per OSHA and company policies.
• Monitor progress and quality, ensuring alignment with schedules and plans.
• Provide hands-on field support when needed to keep projects moving.
• Coordinate materials and equipment and prevent delays through timely procurement and communication.
• Maintain clear daily logs, progress reports, and incident records with the project manager.
