Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Superintendent with a solid background in managing and overseeing commercial construction projects. This position will manage smaller commercial jobs and is well-suited for a working Superintendent who is comfortable leading the jobsite while also stepping in to perform hands‑on field work when needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to balance field production, subcontractor coordination, safety, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Hours:
A typical workweek is Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 4:00pmPM, actual working hours and days may vary due to project deadlines; May require weekend or evening work at times.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision of Crew and Subcontractors
- Directly oversee construction workers and subcontractors to ensure tasks are performed according to plan, safely, and efficiently.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
- Lead by example as a working Superintendent on smaller commercial projects, stepping in to assist with field tasks when needed to keep work moving safely and efficiently.
Ensuring Safety Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure the job site complies with OSHA and company safety regulations.
Project Progress and Quality Control
- Monitor the progress of work to ensure it aligns with schedules and specifications.
- Inspect work for quality, ensuring adherence to plans, codes, and standards.
Hands‑On Field Support
- Perform or assist with hands‑on field work as project needs require, including layout support, basic carpentry, site preparation, material handling, punch list items, cleanup, and general field tasks.
- Balance hands‑on production work with supervision, subcontractor coordination, safety oversight, documentation, schedule management, and quality control.
- Identify and help resolve field issues quickly to reduce delays, support productivity, and maintain a professional, organized jobsite.
Coordination of Materials and Equipment
- Ensure timely delivery and proper usage of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prevent delays by coordinating needs with suppliers and the project manager.
Reporting and Communication
- Maintain clear and timely communication with the project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of commercial construction field experience, including progressively responsible supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to manage day‑to‑day job‑site operations from mobilization through inspections, punch list, and closeout.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, construction documents, specifications, building codes, and jobsite safety requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, field crews, and project teams to maintain schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change‑related documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to use construction technology, scheduling tools, mobile applications, and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred, or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe after hire.
- Experience using construction management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, or similar systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local/regional jobsites as needed.
