MatPel Builders in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to work under a Journeyman, gaining hands-on training while assisting with construction and remodeling projects.

You will learn essential carpentry skills on the job, handle tools, uphold safety, and attend courses to develop according to the Field Performance Skills Matrix. This role offers growth and a path to becoming a skilled tradesperson.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Good math skills and mechanically minded.
• Familiarity with common power and hand tools.
• Experience in construction, preferably high end residential.
• Open to instruction, willingness to learn.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, great attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist Journeyman Carpenters with construction and remodeling projects.
• Help build structures from wood and other materials.
• Learn and practice essential carpentry skills on the job.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Set up and maintain tools for supervising carpenter.
• Attend courses on carpentry to attain the necessary technical skills as outlined in the Field Performance Skills Matrix.
