Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Apprentice I that will be responsible for assisting Journeyman and Foreman Carpenters in the completion of their tasks while learning the trade.

You will help with setup, material handling, form work, and site safety on active construction projects, while developing carpentry skills under supervision.

This entry‑level role requires teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn, with opportunities for progression within Mortenson's diverse portfolio.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in apprenticeship program.
• Previous experience on a construction site preferred.
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication.
• Ability to read plans and operate equipment safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Setup trailers and build temporary structures between office units.
• Install shelves, set up tool trailers and site infrastructure per erosion control plan.
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms.
• Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevation.
• Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials.
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry tasks including walls, footings, and door installations.
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and levels.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs; duties may change with notice.
