Job summary

PCE, Inc. in Lincoln, NE is seeking a CAD design student to assist the project team by designing components and assemblies, creating drawings, and supporting documentation related to components and assemblies.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to implement drawing requirements, perform tolerance analyses, help develop cost models, and contribute to fixture design while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two semesters minimum in a CAD drawing program or equivalent and current enrollment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD software and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Design components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Create component and assembly drawings in company format and manage revisions.
• Work with Manufacturing and Engineers to implement drawing requirements and support control plans.
• Assist Engineers in design for manufacturing and good design practices.
• Perform tolerance stack analysis and evaluate CPk data to resolve stack‑up issues.
• Develop cost models and review vendor quotations to meet requirements.
• Support design of measurement, assembly, and test fixtures to meet timelines.
• Adhere to quality and safety systems.
