Job summary

Crown Battery Mfg. in Fremont, OH is seeking an IND Battery Assembler on the 2nd shift to join Manufacturing. The role involves assembling cells, wiring in series/parallel, and using a hand torch to weld intercells per diagrams and work orders.

Qualified applicants are 18+, with safety training, basic math/computer skills, and preferably 1 year factory experience. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and work on a fast-paced production floor is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience with safety and environmental training.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast paced setting.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to use some hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions.
• Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
• Supporting implementation of corrective/preventative and improvement actions.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
• Proper housekeeping of the work area.
• Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment where required.
• Use the battery assembly diagram to figure out layout of the battery.
• Place intercells on the cells in proper order. Use a hand torch to burn remaining intercells and cell button together.
• Examine work order for any special items.
• Responsible for measuring cable layout and length. Make the cables with proper lead head and install onto the battery.
• Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
