Job summary

Luxoft in Dearborn, MI seeks an Automation Test Engineer / Lab Support Engineer to set up, operate, maintain, and automate an automotive testing laboratory. This hands-on role involves working with hardware, test equipment, vehicle components, and automation tools in an on-site lab.

You will develop Python scripts, build fixtures, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and support automated and manual tests, ensuring reliable test environments and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Hands-on lab experience in a lab, test bench, or manufacturing setting.
• Experience assembling, wiring, fabricating, modifying, and troubleshooting hardware.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation and maintenance of automotive test lab equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform hands-on hardware fabrication, wiring, and integration for test setups and benches.
• Build, modify, and maintain test fixtures, harnesses, adapters, and lab hardware.
• Perform preventive maintenance on test equipment and lab infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues affecting tests.
• Develop Python scripts and automation utilities to support testing and data collection.
• Execute automated and manual tests and investigate failures.
• Analyze logs to identify root causes across software/hardware/infrastructure.
• Collaborate to resolve issues and maintain test environments.
• Document configurations, procedures, and maintenance activities.
