Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Automotive Test Automation Engineer in Dearborn, MI to deliver stable test environments and automated testing for distributed features. You will collaborate with systems, wiring, and software teams to validate electrical features before production, ensuring successful vehicle launches.

The role requires 3+ years in dynamic systems and embedded real-time controls, strong C/C++ skills, and experience with AUTOSAR. A team-oriented, problem-solving mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering or related field with emphasis on control systems.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and testing tools (e.g., TestRail, Matlab/Simulink).
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR standards and tools for automotive software development.
• 3+ years in dynamic systems and embedded real-time controls development for automotive or similar electromechanical systems (C/C++).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute functional test scenarios and tests using Agile Sprints.
• Interface with development and test teams to implement automated tests and tools.
• Review requirements to ensure they are testable and traceable.
• Log test results and defects in JIRA; debug failures to root cause.
• Reproduce and troubleshoot defects with feature engineers.
• Participate in root cause analysis of hardware quality problems and software defects.
• Contribute to automation enhancements for upcoming vehicle programs.
• Provide estimates during sprint planning for testing tasks.
