Job summary

Mechanics' Local 701 Technician Training Center is seeking a dynamic Automotive & Diesel Instructor to join our education team. This role delivers hands-on training across automotive, medium/heavy duty diesel, and equipment repair, developing curricula and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

You will teach lectures and shop/lab sessions, assess student performance, and contribute to lesson planning, all on a full-time weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years industry experience in automotive/medium/heavy truck as a Journeyman Technician or equivalent.
• At least 2 years teaching experience in auto/diesel at a professional training facility within the last 10 years preferred.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass background check and drug testing.
• ASE Master Certification in Automotive and Truck series, or ability to achieve Master status including L1 within 120 days and stay current.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and hands-on training in a shop/lab environment.
• Assist in curriculum development and lesson planning.
• Grade and track student performance; conduct evaluations and test proctoring.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and adapt to diverse learning styles.
