ASC Machine Tools, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to take control systems from design and programming through testing and startup, landing finished equipment on the shop floor in Spokane Valley, WA.

This hands-on role blends electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, machine testing, and field troubleshooting. You will work with engineers, production staff, and customers on equipment for various industries, driving solutions, and contributing to design reviews, builds, startup, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field experience.
Experience working independently and as part of a team.
Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
Located in or willing to relocate to Spokane-CDA area.

Responsibilities

Design electrical and control systems for industrial machinery.
Write, test, and maintain PLC and HMI software.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production staff, and other teams to integrate machine systems.
Plan assigned work and keep the project team informed of progress and issues.
Participate in design reviews, machine builds, startup, testing and validation.
Troubleshoot electrical and controls problems in shop and field.
Seek improvements to machine performance, cost reduction, and serviceability.
