Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a hands-on automotive mechanic to join the Returns team as a Quality Control – Auto Parts Returns Specialist.

The role focuses on inspecting returned parts to determine if they are defective, damaged, or functioning as expected, leveraging diagnostic experience for accurate findings. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and other components, and can document findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience with engines, transmissions, drivetrains, or other components.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and failures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to document inspection results clearly.
• Basic computer skills to enter information into systems.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work safely in a warehouse/automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect returned parts to determine whether they are defective, damaged, mechanically failed, or functioning as expected.
• Evaluate engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and other components using hands-on knowledge.
• Perform basic diagnostic checks to determine part condition.
• Document inspection findings and update warehouse/inventory records.
• Communicate inspection findings to the Returns team to support disposition decisions.
• Load and unload automotive parts and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Follow safety procedures and properly use required tools.
