Emr-USA-Metal-Recyclin seeks a hands-on Quality Control – Auto Parts Returns Specialist for our West Deptford warehouse. This non-repair role focuses on inspecting returned parts, diagnosing potential issues, and documenting findings with precision.

The ideal candidate has experience with engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and related components, can work independently, lift up to 100 pounds, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience with engines, transmissions, drivetrains, or other automotive components.
• Ability to diagnose and identify mechanical problems and potential failures.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems.
• Ability to perform basic diagnostic and functional checks.
• Ability to distinguish between normal wear, damage, and actual mechanical failure.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to make objective determinations based on inspection findings.
• Ability to clearly document inspection results.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter information into inventory, warehouse, or other software systems.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions based on inspection findings.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in a warehouse/automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect returned automotive parts and determine whether the part is defective, damaged, mechanically failed, or functioning as expected.
• Evaluate engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and other automotive components using hands‑on mechanical knowledge.
• Perform basic diagnostic and functional checks to determine the condition of returned parts.
• Identify signs of mechanical failure, damage, excessive wear, improper installation, or other potential defects.
• Use common hand and power tools as needed during inspections and diagnostic checks.
• Determine whether a reported mechanical issue is supported by the condition of the returned part.
• Clearly document inspection findings, including the condition of the part and identified issues.
• Enter inspection results and update return or inventory information in the appropriate warehouse/software system.
• Communicate inspection findings to the Returns team to support decisions regarding the disposition of returned inventory.
• Assist with determining whether returned parts should be returned to inventory, rejected, or otherwise dispositioned based on inspection findings and established procedures.
• Load and unload automotive parts and other inventory as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required tools and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
