Job summary

Howard Hughes Communities seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee Downtown Summerlin's engineering operations. You will supervise the engineering team, manage building systems, and support safety and vendor coordination in a high-traffic open-air retail environment.

You will troubleshoot, perform repairs, and ensure service standards while maintaining records, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration with property management and tenants.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in a commercial office environment.
• High School Diploma required; valid Driver's License.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; multitasking capability.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• EMS/BMS experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Monitor condition of Downtown Summerlin to maintain safety, cleanliness and inviting environments.
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of building systems and site infrastructure.
• Remain hands-on for diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and emergency response.
• Maintain accurate records in the Angus Work Order system and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for major building systems.
• Coordinate after-hours emergency responses and tenant service needs.
• Inspect public areas and tenant spaces to identify maintenance, safety and presentation issues.
