Job summary

Agility Robotics is seeking an Applications Mechanical Engineer/Designer who can translate customer use cases into CAD models and BOMs for deploying Digit in warehouses and manufacturing environments.

You will design workcell layouts, fixtures, and integration of off‑the‑shelf scanners and sensors, test deployments in our cells or on site, and build reusable designs for future deployments, with up to 20% travel. This hybrid role is based in Salem, OR or Pittsburgh, PA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mechanical design or related role with deployed designs.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and BOM creation.
• Experience integrating off-the-shelf hardware into assemblies.
• Familiar with fabrication methods (sheet metal, machining, welding, 3D printing).
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for site surveys and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design customer workcell layouts including robot placement and safety zones.
• Detail fixtures, carts, jigs, and material handling interfaces.
• Test and integrate hardware components into deployment configurations.
• Produce production-quality CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Assist with site surveys capturing floor, dock, and utility constraints.
• Support on-site setup and debugging of fixtures and hardware.
• Develop reusable designs to accelerate future deployments.
